
Independent Advocacy Level 2
Who is this for?
This qualification is an introductory program for individuals seeking to gain knowledge and
understating of the role and responsibilities of an Independent Advocate.
This unit will be of interest to volunteer advocates, trustees of independent advocacy
organisation’s with no previous independent advocacy experience. It will be suitable for
administration staff, people who work alongside advocacy, or those who wish to become
advocates. The course can also be taken as part of one’s continuous professional development
(CPD).
What will I study?
The qualification covers the principles of:
Independent Advocacy
The independent Advocacy role
Communication, equality and inclusion with independent Advocacy
The 1 Mandatory units
201 – Understand the purpose and role of the Independent Advocate
Certificate pathway
A maximum of 4 credits must be completed to achieve this qualification. One in
house workshop to attend and the submission of two assignments
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must over the age of 18.
